About Couples Counselling
Couples counselling is a guided space where partners meet with a trained therapist to improve their relationship. It helps both people understand each other, communicate better, and handle conflicts more healthily. The counsellor stays neutral, leads the discussion, teaches tools, and helps identify unhelpful patterns.
At its best, counselling helps partners slow down, feel heard, and rebuild trust or closeness safely and intentionally. It works best when both people are open, honest, reflective, patient, and willing to work on the relationship. We focus on creating a safe, comfortable environment.
Therapeutic approaches include: Gottman’s Level 1 and Level 2, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma-informed perspectives, and high-conflict/conflict-avoidant techniques.
